As the first re-entry program ever launched in the legal profession, the OnRamp Fellowship is now expanding to include six additional leading law firms – Skadden, Morrison & Foerster, Loeb & Loeb, Stoel Rives, Wiley Rein, and Wilson Elser – as well as its first legal department, Amazon, and financial services firm, Barclays. The goal of the Fellowship is to enhance the talent pipeline in prestigious organizations with diverse, high-performing women who have the potential and the desire to advance into leadership roles.
This unique initiative began in January 2014 to provide experienced women lawyers re-entering the profession with an opportunity to update their skills and contacts through paid, one-year Fellowships with major law firms. Four law firms (Sidley, Cooley, Baker Botts, and Hogan Lovells) initially piloted the program and 15 more law firms joined to offer Fellowships shortly thereafter.
Together, these 19 firms have hired a total of 25 Fellows. Out of the nine Fellows who have completed the yearlong Fellowship to date (8 from 2014, 1 from 2015), eight have received full-time offers to join law firms.
Due in large part to this success, the Fellowship is expanding to include additional law firms as well as other re-entry pathways through Amazon’s legal department and Barclays’ compliance group. The full list of 25 participating law firms follows.
